Plant description 

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) - a species of plant of the Asteraceae family. In the wild, it can be found in Europe and in the Urals, the Caucasus, Asia Minor, Iran, Afghanistan and India. It has been brought to North America and Australia.

It is an annual plant, photophilous, which occurs wild in the fields and roadsides. The crops are considered weeds, having minimum soil requirements. It rises to 60 - 80 cm height and has a strong, distinctive aroma.

Its extract not only reduces existing hypertension, but also prevents a sudden drop in the blood pressure. Here the highest activity in addition to the extract of the inflorescence was also in an extract of the fresh fruit. In addition to these properties it is also important to note that this plant lowers cholesterol, among others, LDL and triglycerides in the blood and prevents progress of atherosclerotic conditions in the body. This has been demonstrated experimentally.
