Plant description A species of plant from the Rubiaceae family. The dye is obtained from the rhizome - alizarin with derivatives, which formerly were dyed red, brown and violet fabrics. This dye was already known to the ancient Egyptians, Phoenicians and Jews. Today, dye is sometimes used for the production of graphical, oil and watercolor paints. |
