Plant description

Occurs throughout Europe. An annual plant. It is a semi-parasite, from the roots of other plants using suckers to collect water along with mineral salts. Blooms from June to October, is insect-like or self-pollinating. Occurs on meadows, pastures, peat bogs, on the outskirts of forests, in bushes, over ditches. It likes moist, slightly swampy soil.
