Plant description ALONA - Aloë capensis - hardened juice from the leaves of various Aloë species, mainly Aloë ferox Miller, from the Liliaceae family. It has the form of lumps of irregular shape and of various sizes, green-brown, almost black, usually covered with green dust; clumps at the pressure break into sharp-edged debris; their inside is shiny, shelllike, having a peculiar smell.
