A species of plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. Hedge woundwort occurs in Europe and areas of Asia with a moderate climate.

Phytopharmacological effects: anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, sedative, choleretic, astringent, hemostatic, antispasmodic, hypotensive, stimulating the regeneration of connective and epithelial tissue, accelerating wound healing, protective for the liver (hepatoprotective), analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anticancer (cytotoxic); detoxifying, "blood cleansing".

Indications: rheumatic diseases, inflammation of bones, muscles and skin, inflammation of the throat, stomach and intestines, hepatitis, bile stasis, cirrhosis and fatty infiltrations in the liver; bone fractures, inflammation of the vagina, uterus and ovaries, inflammation of the eye; gingivitis, inflammation after tooth extraction; inflammation of the scalp, including autoimmune; inflammation of the lungs, pleura and bronchi; spasms of the digestive tract; hypertension, diabetes, neoplastic disease (adjunctively), inflammation of the ear (enemas, rinses), hemorrhoids, itching of the vulva and anus, inflammation of the penis, scrotum and testicles; hard-to-heal wounds and burns; eczema, bacterial and fungal acne.
