Plant description A species of a plant from the Gereniaceae famliy. It grows in Europe, Asia and North Africa. A two-year-old plant, growing up to 50 cm in height. When rubbed, it gives off a strong, specific, slightly buggy odor. It grows in the forests, bushes, along the mid-forest roads. It blooms from May to October. |

Properties - contains: tannins, flavonoids, phenolic acids, vitamin C, malic acid, citric acid, maltol, gentian, essential oil - it is attibuted anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, anti-haemorrhagic, anti-exudative, anti-radical, antioxidant, antineoplastic, protective against liver and kidney parenchyma, anti-diarrhea properties - used in case of failures, steatosis, cirrhosis, hepatitis, inflammation of the kidneys and bladder, urolithiasis, gastroenteritis, intestinal malnutrition, gastrointestinal ulceration, gastrointestinal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome - externally used with ulcerations and cutaneous pimples, oozing wounds, seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea and juvenile acne on the seborrhea background - used for excessive tearing, inflammation of the eyelids and conjunctivitis, inflammation of the white skin; retinal diseases - has been used in inflammation of external and internal genitals - rinses, sittings, irrigations, haemorrhoids |
