Properties The green fruit shells contain the red kamala dye used in natural medicine to get rid of tapeworms from the digestive tract, as a support for the body against bacterial and fungal infections and as a strong laxative. It has been used in India and the Philippines since before our era to dye wool and silk. Kamala powder, after dissolving in alcohol, creates a mixture with a beautiful, ruby red color, used in Asia for the production of hair dyes.
